As a children’s librarian, I found _Sulwe_ to be the most beautiful, sensitive and helpful book dealing with the difficult issue of colorism. In fact it will help any child with feelings of self-consciousness by gently promoting self-acceptance and confidence. I love this book and can’t wait to share it with my grandchildren.

This book is about a little girl who thought that she wasn’t beautiful. A shooting star made her realize that she was beautiful. The pictures in the book were the same inside as on the cover. Through the book I learned that black is always beautiful. Overall this book is amazing.

The book is about a little girl who does not love who she is. It made me wonder why do people hate how they look. I loved how the book shows how everyone is beautiful in their own way. The pictures were beautiful. Overall I think that this book was a good learning experience.

  4. First off what a beautiful way to remind us all to speak life and love over ourselves and others. Sulwe is a pleasant, creative, and soothing surprise. Read it, love it, and share it.

I already learned since I was young that any color is beautiful but the way the author presented this story is amazingly heartwarming. Great read!
