Children in the U.S. often have limited or distorted knowledge about Africa. Authentic, non-stereotypical books can change what children know, think and feel about the continent and its people. MY READ AFRICA BOOK is a literacy initiative that puts award-winning, culturally affirming books about Africa into books the hands of young people.
Each February, Africa Access partners with libraries and schools to put high-quality books about Africa into the hands of young people. Your donation helps us expand this program and introduce more young readers to scholar-vetted books set in African countries.
