READ AFRICA WEEK
Read Africa Week (Feb. 1-7) is a literacy initiative of Africa Access and the Outreach Program at the Center for African Studies at Howard University. We invite teachers, librarians, parents, and concerned adults to kick off Black History Month with great books about Africa and continue reading about Africa all year. This year we are launching a special year-long focus on Ghana. This country-focus approach reinforces the fact that Africa is a continent not a country.
How can I participate?
- Read aloud to children or introduce a book to teens. See our lists of recommended Read Africa titles vetted by African Studies scholars.
- Become a Read Africa Week Sponsor
Our country focus for 2017 is Ghana!
