Illustrator Elizabeth Zunon will read her picture book,   One Plastic Bag: Isatou Ceesay and the Recycling Women of The Gambia and demonstrate how to recycle plastic bags into jewelry, dreamcatchers and basketball nets.

 

 

 

 

Write a Hip Hop Song

Hip Hop Poet Bomani Armah will lead a Hip Hop song writing session using his BARS curriculum which includes a multimedia presentation and graphic organizers. Participants will learn how to write Hip Hip songs about recycling and how to help students apply Hip Hop song-writing strategies to other topics.
