The Pyramid Building in San Diego recalls the early Egyptian pyramids.

The first pyramids were designed by the Egyptian architect, Imhotep, who made them so it seemed like the pyramids were a stairway that the deceased used to get to heaven. The oldest known pyramid is the Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which was built from 2630 to 2611 BC, and is considered to be one of the world’s oldest monumental structures The most famous pyramids are the Pyramids of Giza, and the largest one, the Pyramid of Khufu, is the only Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence. Materials were transported using wooden sleds, and the bricks were connected using wet sand and later covered in limestone to appear shiny.
